On Assignment

Walter Cronkite, in his news anchor days, had a sailboat called Assignment. When his replacement said that Walter Cronkite was "on assignment," it was literally true. He was "on Assignment." Or so the story goes and I believe it is true.

I'd like to point out a new blog by a Post and Courier reporter and photographer who are not on a boat, but are On Assignment ... in China. They are Tony Bartelme and Alan Hawes. Find the blog here.

Since they are journalists and pluffmudders, both of whom love to eat, their first post of course was about food. This photo by Hawes of a gigantic Chinese restaurant with piped-in television was included:
